This article examines the decisive role of Artificial Intelligence technologies in the modernization of preschool education management processes. It analyzes Ukrainian regulatory and legal documents, scientific research, and practical experience in integrating artificial intelligence into the management activities of preschool education institutions. It is emphasized that the increasing intensity of the introduction of digital technologies and generative AI models of artificial intelligence necessitates a review of the role of the head of a preschool education institution, since their adaptability determines the effectiveness of organizational changes. Key challenges are outlined: the automation of routine processes, the need for data protection, improving digital literacy, and the formation of ethical standards for the use of digital technologies in working with children. The results of a survey and interviews with preschool education administrators in the Zhytomyr region are presented, which revealed varying levels of their awareness of artificial intelligence models, as well as typical difficulties and professional development needs. The criteria for an adaptive leader are highlighted: strategic thinking, digital competence, psychological readiness for innovation, and the ability to integrate artificial intelligence into management practice. Furthermore, adaptability is becoming an important management quality that combines technological awareness, flexibility of thinking, and ethical responsibility. It is crucial to note that only a leader who is able to learn quickly and lead a team can ensure effective digital transformation of management activities, optimize educational and administrative processes, and promote the development of human resources in the conditions of digital transformation.
